NEA-Retired Grants
For Organizing, Developing Intergenerational Mentoring Programs, or Fostering Community Partnerships
Deadline: Tuesday, February 15, 2011
[Grant applications for 2010 are now closed.]
Each year, NEA-Retired awards State Project Grants to state retired entities (retired locals must make requests through the State Retired Organization). In cases where a State Retired Organization does not exist, NEA-Retired will receive and review grant proposals that seek to establish a State Retired Organization. The grant award will not exceed $5,000 a year. No State Retired Organization shall receive more than two grants per year.
Grant proposals should address a strategic focus or priority of the NEA, or NEA-Retired. Grant dollars must be used for membership organizing project(s), issue organizing, intergenerational mentoring program development or community partnerships and should be related in some aspect to the main priorities of NEA or NEA-Retired.

Filling out this form and sending it in triggers the request for the second year of funding. Contact the NEA-Retired office, if the grant won’t continue in the second year. - NEA-Retired Grant Final Report (Word, 3pp)
On July 1 of each year, recipients completing the grant cycle will submit this form. The form details their successes and challenges and provides NEA-Retired with opportunities to gain insights into programs that work. These successful projects, events, and programs can be a model for other affiliates. The document should be filled out and sent via email to Candace Lilyquist. - NEA-Retired Grant Opt Out Form (Word, 2pp)
An affiliate wishing to opt out of the NEA-Retired Grant process should fill out and send this form via email to Candace Lilyquist. The form will be used to document the reason(s) the affiliate chose to opt out and return the unused portion of the grant to NEA-Retired.
